When the vet arrives, there will be plenty of time to ask any questions that you may have, and introduce them to your pet. We want you to feel comfortable with the visit, and will take as long as you need.
After an introduction to your pet, the vet will administer a quick sedative injection, to ensure that your pet is calm and sleepy for the rest of the visit. This can take 10-30 minutes to take full effect, during which time you can sit with your pet as they drift into a deep sleep.
When you are ready, and your pet is sedated, the vet will administer an injection of an anaesthetic, that will cause your pet's heart to slow down, and eventually stop. This is a very peaceful, humane process, especially with the sedative that your pet will have already received. Our aim is always to ensure that your pet passes away gently and peacefully.
You then have a few options as to what happens next. You can arrange for a private cremation, with your pet's ashes returned to you, with the pet cemetery in Brynford. They can collect your pet from your home, or you can take your pet to them yourself if you prefer. More details about their services can be found here: https://petfuneralse
